Okahu Chambourcin 2013

This deeply coloured red was estate-grown at Okahu Estate, in Northland, matured for a year in American and French oak barrels, stored at length in stainless steel tanks, then bottled recently.

Still moderately youthful, it is sturdy, with the distinctive, spicy, slightly rustic bouquet of Chambourcin.  Full of personality, it has strong, lively, berryish, spicy flavours, showing considerable complexity, and a fairly firm finish.

Okahu Chambourcin 2013

Estate grown from the fantastic 2013 season, aged in American and French oak for at least 12 months before being carefully matured in tank before bottling.

Brambles, blackberry and dark red fruits.

Ripe dark berry fruit. Big and bold with plenty of palate weight. Tannins are there but mingle nicely with the fruit giving a nice balance to the wine.
