Okahu Chambourcin 2013

This deeply coloured red was estate-grown at Okahu Estate, in Northland, matured for a year in American and French oak barrels, stored at length in stainless steel tanks, then bottled recently.

Still moderately youthful, it is sturdy, with the distinctive, spicy, slightly rustic bouquet of Chambourcin.  Full of personality, it has strong, lively, berryish, spicy flavours, showing considerable complexity, and a fairly firm finish.
