Okahu is located 3.5km from Kaitaia on the Awarora Rd (the road to Ahipara, the little village at the southern end of 90 Mile Beach). Okahu’s six acre estate vineyard is on the corner of Awarora Rd and Okahu Rd, latitude 35.08ºS with the winery’s frontage off Okahu Road.

    Okahu Estate invites wine lovers to honour a remarkable legacy this New Year. It is with deep respect that we share the passing of our proprietor, Monty Knight, aged 80. A pioneer of far north winemaking, Monty devoted his life to championing the land, the people, and the philosophy of Okahu Estate. His passion lives on in every carefully crafted bottle.

    To honour Monty’s life and work, the final releases from the Okahu cellar are now available in special New Year promotion packs. This is the last opportunity to secure our beautifully aged Okahu red wines—rare bottles shaped by decades of dedication, thoughtful vineyard stewardship, and an unwavering commitment to quality over quantity. Each glass tells a story of time, place, and quiet excellence.
